We at Caterham Baptist Church are considering the implications of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for our activities as a church and community.
Following government advice, we have regretfully cancelled our Beechwood Tots, Senior Moments, Talking Point and Friday Clubs, but we will continue to support the local Foodbank. Our current intention for Sunday worship is to provide an opportunity to gather virtually, via a live streaming facility; connection details are on the website.
Although our programme of activities is inevitably affected by current events, our role as a church continues. We will find ways of supporting individuals and families within the church family and among the wider community, especially the most vulnerable.
Our church premises will be open each day (Monday-Friday 9.00 am-5.00 pm) for those wishing to talk, or to find a quiet place to pray. Please ring the bell of the church office at 4 Beechwood Road. Handwashing facilities are available and the building is being cleaned regularly. Of course, those with virus symptoms or underlying health issues should stay at home.
We have a team of volunteers ready to help with potential needs. For example, please do contact us if you need help with shopping, collection of prescriptions, mail posting or someone to talk to.
Most of all we are thankful to worship a God who is in control of all events, and who is full of compassion. In Jesus he showed us what love truly looks like. He gave his life for us, and in response our desire is to give our lives to show that love for others.
